   Smiley’s Mixed Packages Pricing Questions

1.  Does Smiley’s sell mixed 6pks?   Yes we do.  When you purchase a mixed 6-pk we charge you the six pack price for the most expensive beer in your mix.

2.  Does Smiley’s sell mixed cases?  Yes we do.  When you purchase a mixed case we charge you the case price for the most expensive beer in your mix.

 3.  Does Smiley’s sell mixed 12 pks?    Yes but only on domestics.  Example:  If you purchase a 6 pk of bud and a 6 pk of bud light we will charge you for the bud 12 pk price.  At Smiley’s we understand that at times your household may have different taste therefore we try to offer you the lowest price possible on your purchases.

 Smiley’s Beer Questions
  1. Why doesn’t Smiley’s have a cooler just for singles?  Over the years we have discovered that with a singles cooler the beer is usually not as fresh as we like it.  We work hard to maintain our coolers to make it easier for you the customer.  You will NEVER find an old beer at Smiley’s and if you do we will refund you your money and give you a discount on your next purchase.

 

  1. How Does Smiley’s rotate their beer?  We maintain our inventory very well.  Most of our beers sell within 2 weeks.  Those that don’t are stored in a cool, dark room in their original box.  This ensures that light does not affect the flavor.  For our domestic cooler we run inventory so well that rotation is never a problem.  In our Import cooler the inside is dimly lit and most of the beers are kept in their original boxes.  All GREEN GLASS beverages are always kept in their original boxes until they are placed on our shelves.

 

  1. Why doesn’t Smiley’s maintain the inventory that other large Beverage Stores Do?  Why should we maintain a months worth of beer?  Yes it looks like those other stores sell a-lot of different beers than we do but how fresh are their products?  With a large amount of extra beer it is very difficult to rotate the product.  At Smiley’s we maintain good rotation so our customers will always get the freshest beer possible.  Smiley’s carries EVERY brand of BEER available in our area and in New Hampshire.  Other stores may have us beat with inventory but we have them beat with selling the freshest beer possible.

 

  1. Why doesn’t Smiley’s sell all packages of a product?  We try to please all of our customers.  We have tried to sell 6pk packages and 12 pack packages of the same brand but sometimes 1 of the packages doesn’t sell as well and the beer doesn’t rotate as well.  When this happens, we discontinue the package that doesn’t sell.  Usually the pricing between a 6 pack case and a 12 pack case is only $1-$2 and we feel that if you are a real beer drinker you would rather pay more for a fresher product. Most of the time we do carry both packages.

 

  1. Sometimes I see discounted beer at the front display.  What is this beer and why is it so cheap?  Well remember above where we said that we only sell fresh beer?  This isn’t always true and this is the exception.  Sometimes companies have beer that just doesn’t sell or that becomes very close coded.  When this happens they will offer it to us at a discounted price.  That is why sometimes you will find beer in this area much cheaper than you usually pay.  This beer is fine but it may not have the same taste as FRESH beer.  However sometimes we will get products that a company is discontinuing that are fresh.  When this happens we suggest that you purchase it.  You will also find at the end of a season, some seasonal beer will be discounted because they want to bring out their next seasonal.  The shelf life on this beer is good however keep in mind that is isn’t as fresh as what you purchased at the beginning of the season.

 

  1. Will Smiley’s order me Special beer?  Yes we will.  If it’s available in NH and we can get it we will.  Example is Sam Smith, we only carry the big bottles and not the 4 packs in the Summer.  This is an expensive beer to maintain and it doesn’t sell well in the 4 packs during this time of year.  We will however bring it in at the end of October.  When we get the product in we will call you to let you know they are ready for pickup.

 

  1. What is so special about Smiley's LOWER floor?  If you wonder how come the bottom floor is always cold in the winter here is the answer....We do NOT heat the bottom floor.  Heat blows directly on the product and that will change the FLAVOR in a matter of hours.  We want you the consumer to have the FRESHEST and the BEST flavor of brew possible.

  1. Are Smiley’s employees well informed about the beer they sell For the most part yes.  We will help you to choose the right beer for your needs.  We have tried to inform most of our employees about the different beers, where they come from and what you the customer can expect for taste.

 

  1. How is Smiley’s different than the bigger stores?  Smiley’s employees will help you from the time you come in the door to the time your beverages are taken to your car.  Yes that’s right, we will carry your beverages to your car except for kegs.

 

  1. Will Smiley’s take the time with me to select my beers?  We will take as much time as needed to ensure that all of your questions are answered and to ensure that your are able to choose the right beers for your needs.

NON ALCOHOL ORDERING & PRICING 

      1.  What does Smiley's classify as Non Alcohol?  Any product that does not contain Alcohol

       2.  Does Smiley's sell mixed packages of these products?  The only packages that we sell mixed

         are loose cases or you can buy 2 different 12 pks for a mixed case.

     3.  Will Smiley's order me a special product?  If we do not carry a product or flavor that you

         are looking for we will obtain the product for you.  See our list of products and flavors

         available here.

     4.  Can I get the product cold?  Because of our cooler space we are unable to sell these

         products cold however if you would like it chilled we can place it in the cooler before you pick

         it up.

     5.  How Do I order something special?  You can place your order 3 ways.  1.  You can come into

         the store and place your order.  2.  You can call and place your order.  3.  You can email us

         your order at specialorders@smileysdover.com.  See the list here.

     6.  How long will it take to get my product?  Give us 1 week to obtain your product.  Usually we

         can have it within days depending on what you are ordering.

     7.  Does this service cost more?  No it is part of Smiley's customer service.

 The Deli

     1.  Does Smiley's offer catering?   No but what we do offer is to have all of the food ready

         and hot for you.  We will deliver but we do not have the staff or the equipment to offer

         catering.  

     2.  What if I have the equipment?  Smiley's has done cookouts and some informal affairs that

         have worked out well.  You must provide the equipment and we will provide the food and the

         staff to assist you to have a "stress" free event.

     3.  What is the time frame of scheduling something like this?  Smiley's has been known to be the

         "best" in a pinch.  We have a great staff that will do anything for the customers.  We would

         like at least a months notice however we will work with you on a very short notice

     4.  What is the cost of this?  When you call us for your event we will discuss the pricing at that

         time.  We have been known to put together a great party on a shoe string budget.  It all

         depends on what you want and need.

     5.  Is Smiley's food healthy?  The answer to this question is yes for the most part.  We have

         put together a nutritional page for your information.  Check it out here.  Most of our food is

         home cooked which means no additives or preservatives.  The food that is not home cooked is

         chosen carefully. 

     6.  Does Smiley's use any items with trans fat?  No and we never have. 

 

     7.  Does Smiley's fried foods contain any "fillers"?  No.  When the "box" restaurants state 100%

         white meat that isn't always the way it is.  I happened upon a box from a major chain that

         once contained their "select" chicken nuggets.  On this box it stated Breast meat & rib

         meat.  Rib meat is a "filler".  It is the part of the chicken that we throw away at home.

         Not these guys!  USDA standards allow a certain % of fillers so they take full advantage of

         it.  They can still advertise that it is select however I don't know about you but I have

         never seen "select" rib meat.  Our chicken fingers are ONLY 100% white breast of chicken

         and DOES NOT contain "rib" meat.  That's the way it should be.

     8.  And the #1 question about the Deli..Why does my order take so long to be delivered?

         I know that it looks bad for us to have a long delivery time and some of the "other" pizza places have chosen to exploit this, however we would like to state the following:  When your order comes in we do not stand around waiting to make it.  We begin on it as soon as we can.  Sometimes we are VERY busy and we get "backed" up.  This is not because we don't have enough help but because we offer GREAT food at GREAT prices.  We also offer something extra...grocery shopping.  We understand that at times you only order FOOD however the person before you may have ordered 10 different food items and 10 grocery items.  It is VERY time consuming to shop, ring it in the register, bag it and deliver it.  We do NOT make this person wait because they ordered groceries.  We make and deliver the food in the order it was taken.

     9.  How do I get my order at a specific time? 

         Call in advance and ask for a specific time for delivery of your food.  We will have it there within 10 minutes of your requested time.  We have some companies that will call 2-3 hours in advance of a NOON delivery time.  The only time we cannot promise this is in bad weather.

     10.  My BIGGEST Pet Peeve... The X-Large Pizza.  This is the BIGGEST rip-off from Pizza Shops.  Below are the sizes MOST pizza shops sell and how they advertise it.

                          X-Large-  Usually 16" but have seen 18"*                               X-Large- 28" X 18" Square (umm, NY Style)

 

* I have seen 1 place in Dover offering a Large Pizza that is 16".  Most of the other places are 14" for a large

* I have NOT seen an 18" as an extra large but as a JUMBO Pizza in Dover.

Do you see the problem here?  Most places are MORE $$ than Smiley's and LESS Pizza!!  This is called marketing??
